Sheldon Cooper was wrong

We have a certain appreciation for The Big Bang Theory in our house. It's reasonably intelligent humor that mixes in dry humor and nerd culture. I love the chemistry jokes, even if I don't love chemistry. Side bar: I took seven semesters of various chemistry classes in college (including the fact that I had to retake the first part of organic chemistry that I failed). I chose not to complete the one or two classes needed for a chem minor on principle: the principle being that I do not like chemistry. That and I don't think a C- and a D+ are sufficient for a minor at Virginia Tech. End side bar.

So no spoilers here, but eventually Sheldon (rather, his voice) states that four state capitals don't lie on the American Interstate System. Being the trivia buffs we are, we set about guessing which ones and then hit up ole Wikipedia to check our answers. I even found interstate trivia on the Federal Highway Administration website. ALERT: SHELDON WAS WRONG. Apparently, five capitals aren't connected to an interstate. Which ones, you might ask?

1. Dover, Delaware: No offense to all you Delawarers (Delawarens? Delawarites? Delawarish?), but I confused Wilmington for Dover whilst driving on I-95 between Washington, DC, and Philadelphia. My b.

5. Pierre, South Dakota: Surprisingly, two interstates intersect in Sioux Falls but neither goes that close to Pierre. Poor Pierre, so lonely. Hell, even Sturgis is closer to I-90.
